Born in Wales in 1937 Peter became a
Christian whilst still a young man of eighteen. He was married three years later
in 1958 to Lorna, and they have three children, all now married. Peter and Lorna
are very proud of their five grandchildren, the most recent of whom arrived
during the summer of 1998. In 1963 he responded to the call of God on his life
and was ordained to the ministry. His first pastorate at
The Ebenezer Congregational Church, Cwmbran, Gwent commenced that same year.
Following his time in Cwmbran the Lord called Peter to the Pastorate of
Rugby Evangelical Free Church in 1972, where he spent the next fourteen
years until in 1986 he returned to Wales and to the
Bethlehem Evangelical Church in Sandfields, Port Talbot. Incidentally, it
was in this very Church that the late
Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones began his ministry in 1927. In 1994 Peter left
Sandfields and founded Gospel Ministries, which gave him the freedom to exercise
an itinerant evangelistic and teaching ministry. To win souls for Christ had
always been the thrust of his ministry, but this new venture brought many more
opportunities, both here and abroad, for Peter to share the Gospel. He is to
this day active in this ministry, although ill health and a tired heart have
caused him to slow down in recent years. He had his first major heart attack in
1985. This was followed by a quadruple by-pass operation in 1992 and a second
heart attack in 1995 which forced him to retire from the full time ministry.
Although now in enforced retirement, Peter is still kept busy preaching. He has
spoken in Churches and conferences in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia,
Spain and the USA. He has authored over 20 books, with three more being
published this year. His books have been translated into Welsh, Spanish,
Swedish, Arabic, Russian and Rumanian. |

Joe Montalto
was born and raised in the Bronx, a borough of New York City. He attended
the Roman Catholic Church as a young boy, and although he maintained a sense
of religion and morality into his teenage and young adult years, he knew
little about the Bible or its teachings. As a young man, Joe attended
Columbia University in New York City, where he
received both Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Electrical Engineering.
During his time in college, Joe had to buy a Bible and read parts of it for
a literature course. Although he believed the Bible's teachings, they did
not make much impact upon his life at that time. However, shortly after
leaving school, the Lord used that same Bible to open Joe's eyes to the
truth. Joe began to learn and apply the Bible's teachings to his life. He
came to realize that although he appeared to be righteous, he was a sinner
in the eyes of God, and in need of Jesus Christ to save him. He came to see
that the work of Christ in dying for sinners and being raised to life again
was the way that God had provided for his salvation. He turned away from
living for Himself and began to serve the true and living God. In July of
1996, Joe was baptized at
Grace Reformed Baptist Church of Long Island
where
he became a member. Some time after that, he led their singles ministry and
Bible study for a period of a few years. He now serves as a youth leader, a
Sunday school teacher, and the leader of a nursing home ministry. Joe has
worked in the fields of satellite and cellular communications. He currently
works at
Lucent Technologies in Whippany, New Jersey, where
he has also been able to hold a weekly Bible study. In late 1999, Joe moved
to Clifton, New Jersey, where he currently resides. |
