Call to Worship:
Psalm 61 Hymn
#17 (Supp.)- Blessed Assurance
1st Scripture:
1 Thessalonians 4:1-5:11
Hymn #454- My Faith Looks
Up to Thee
2nd Scripture:
Ephesians 6:10-20 Hymn #477- Stand Up, Stand Up for Jesus
Introduction:
Last
time, we considered the spiritual opposition that we are up against, and the
reality of the spiritual battle that is always taking place, so that we might,
with a sense of urgency and sobriety move to daily ensure that we are well equipped for this type of a
battle. This morning then, I would like
us to consider the Armor of God, which we must daily put on, if we are to withstand the attacks of our
enemies.
The
Armor of God (Read verses 14-20)
1) “Having girded
your waist with truth.”
2) “Having put on
the breastplate of righteousness.”
3) “Having shod your
feet with the preparation of the Gospel of peace.”
4) “Above all, taking the shield of faith
with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.”
5) “And take the helmet of salvation.”
6) “And the Sword of
the Spirit, which is the Word of God.”
7) “Praying always with all
prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all
perseverance and supplication for all the saints—.”
Amen
